![]() Is something to do with Google? I uploaded latest version and no difference, when I know I had good signals when taking the photos. Hi everyone, Using D5100 and Nxi and mapping function for GPS unit not working again. I therefore suspect that you cannot update a files location once saved, or am I wrong as i'd like to be and would like to save the location so it is consistent on whatever software I use. It seems similar to Lightroom where geo located photographs are not actually locatable outside of Lightroom itself. In Windows 10 a hidden sub folder appears to be being created called NKSC_Param and I suspect hidden data is kept in there. I have however noted that the location data does not seem to be stored with a photograph itself as when I look at a photograph located using this software on some other software, its location is blank. ![]() I've downloaded and started to use the newer Nikon ViewNXi software which just seems like a newer version of the same software and this map view and tagging feature works again. Any solutions? Any replacement programs that will utilise the D5100 Nikon GPS mapping tool? As I am sure, most of us spent $$$ on the GPS feature and now can't view it. I intend to use the program also to assign. The program starts and I can manipulate and store exif/iptc data. 64 bit Operating System 圆4-based processor. For manipulating pictures I installed Nikon ViewNX-i (Version 1.4) on a Computer operating Windows 10 Home, Version 1909, Build 18363.476. Any suggestions to ViewNX2 mapping, as it obviously doesn't work anymore. Nikon ViewNX-i and Windows 10 Map function. I'm guessing they use Google Maps, and Google have updated the interface breaking all the programs that use it :-( The other thing is, location tagging / display has bit-rotted on Picasa too. Therefore it seems to be no use changing to that software instead. If you shoot NEF RAW you can use all the featuresĪs I said, I'm already using the latest version of View NX so cannot update the software any further.Ĭapture NX-D does not seem to have the location / GPS tagging / mapping facility, or at least the help notes to the application does not list them at: Isn't ViewNX2 bit-rotting nowadays? I thought they'd replaced it with Capture NX-DĬapture always used to be chargeable, but iirc Google bought the base product and dumped Nikon, so Nikon have merged all their stuff into the new Capture and made it free. Update software from nikon i just did works great. Google or Bing is no longer working for whatever reason.Īny suggestions? I use Windows 10 and Internet Explorer version 11.309 if that could suddenly become an issue. To me it seems as if whatever portal it uses to bring up the map e.g. There's nothing wrong with my network or web connection and the settings dialog does not offer any helpful ideas - changing my country which seems to be about the only actual option does not help. You can try another server by using the settings dialog'. I get a blank map window with a text box shown indicating 'your computer may not be connected to the network or the server may not be available at the moment. I use the latest version 2.10.3 64 bit on Windows 10 but recently the map view has failed to work. I like to tag my photographs with their location using the map option on Nikon's View NX software.
